Last week saw the releases of two cover songs by our amazing local (girl) bands “+2dB” and “Sulyn”.
+2dB released their “Get Lucky” + “Doin’ It Right” rendition exactly a week ago and immediately gained close to 2,000 plays in under 24hrs. Now if that is not something, we don’t know what is. The Daft Punk cover currently stands at close to 6,000 plays.
Sulyn is the songbird who frequently appears alongside the band “Like Silver” but upon closer observation at her soundcloud page, you’d know that she’s got her own thing going on. Her cover of “Safe And Sound” by Capital Cities strips things down to a sparkling, ambient gem.
What’s so good about these covers is how they could maintain sounding so good after going through a massive, unexpected twist.
We are so proud of these girls. You have to listen to them to believe it.
